In numerology, your Destiny Number is found by converting all the letters in your name to their number value and then adding all the numbers until you reach a single digit.
Unless the result is an 11 or 22. They’re not reduced to a single digit because they’re considered Master Numbers. More about Master Numbers here.
Let’s have an example…
First. What are the number values of each letter in your name?
Here’s a table showing how numbers are associated with letters in the English alphabet.
So for example, the letter a = 1, b = 2, c = 3 and so on up to 9.
As you can see the letter j returns back to 1 and so on till the last letter of the alphabet, z = 8
Here’s an example:
Let’s say your friend’s full name is:
Rosemary Angelina Church
What would her Destiny Number be?
It’s pretty easy, right?
Simply swap out each letter of her name for it’s number and add them all together.
Like this:
9 + 6 + 1 + 5 + 4 + 1 + 9 + 7 (that’s R-o-s-e-m-a-r-y)
1 + 5 + 7 + 5 + 3 + 9 + 5 + 1 (that’s A-n-g-e-l-i-n-a)
3 + 8 + 3 + 9 + 3 + 8 (and that’s C-h-u-r-c-h)
Now grab a calculator or a sharp pencil and your result is:
112.
Right?
Sometimes this preliminary number is called the Karmic number.
But we’re not done yet. We still need to add these digits together.
Like this:
1 + 1 + 2
Giving the result of 4.
So Rosemary’s Destiny Number is 4.
But what if your friend Rosemary gets married and she takes a new surname?
She’s now Rosemary Angelina Newby.
Well, Newby (5 + 5 + 5 + 2 + 7 ) gives a new Karmic number:

Yes?
Now adding 9 + 2 = 11. And that’s where it stops.
Normally a 2 digit result is going to be added together until we get to a single digit answer. But not in the case of two special numbers: 11 and 22. They’re called Master Numbers and are not reduced down to single digits of 2 and 4.
So Rosemary’s new Destiny Number is 11.
