The Law of Reincarnation

The Breath of Lives

Reincarnation has been called by many names, including “rebirth” and “transmigration.” Jewish mystics call it “Gilgul,” which means to rotate in tandem with the cycles of life. Reincarnation is taught in most world religions and spiritual traditions although each has its own interpretation concerning how the law functions. The Law of Reincarnation states that the divine spark, the inner nature of each being, experiences periodic incarnations into the physical realm. The purpose of the incarnation is to experience growth, resistance, becoming, discipline, challenges, victory, and remembering. However, in the process of incarnation, the divine spark often creates karma, which prolongs the entity’s stay in the world of matter. This karmic bondage is one factor that causes the soul to forget its true purpose in being.
