The law of chemical affinity is also called the Law of Cohesion. In physical chemistry, chemical affinity is the “force” that causes chemical reactions. It can be explained in terms of substances which are dissimilar in nature forming a union and creating a third, unique substance. The process results in what some call “free energy.”
